Wifi users in the Kimberley
28-Aug-2009
Users in the Kimberley offer their
thoughts on their new Easyweb wireless internet access.
“I use the internet to check emails, music, information and learning as well as internet banking. Before I used to use the telecentre but sometimes it was pretty hard as they only have certain hours that they open. Sometimes I'd have to go to Broome, which is about 200kms from here. Other than that I'd sometimes use a Next G phone with a broadband connection, but it was hard to pick up a signal.”

“We're out here in the bush and we don't have too much internet. I can use it for anything now. I offer a lot of music here in the community and I can now use it at home. We used to have broadband but that was pretty slow.”
Frankie, Bidyadanga Community
"I think the service is wonderful! It is my lifeline for speaking to my kids when they are at boarding school. As we are not here all year we cannot justify the expense of a permanent contracted internet connection. The hotspot has provided us with a great service as and when we need it."
Robyn Forrester, wife of the Nookanbah Station Manager
